It's a steal at $199. Arn't they trying to make some development kit for the PS2 also?

im excited to see what exactly can be done with all this.

commercial support would be a plus,dunno how well this will do.

but at the end of the day,its a linux pc....so its usefulness will live on!:)

That's what I'm saying. I mean who are they targeting? The people who want to mess with Linux I'm sure already have a PC. Linux is free so why not download it and dual boot with the OS you are currently using? It is A LOT better than spending $200!

It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that the cost is $300 for the playstation2 + $199 for the kit. Heck for that price you can build a half decent dedicated linux box, albeit with older hardware.

This is only a good deal for the few people that have a PS2, have no computer, and are savvy enough to use linux. A very small market segment if you ask me.

Others are be better off downloading linux for free on their computer.

Is this the sony brand HDD and network adapter?

How much is the sony PS2 HDD without linux going to cost?

i dunno.i imagine there will be some 3rd party accesories.
kb/mouse etc..



im not certain that sony will be selling things seperately.
