PS2 - Are there any two player games where you team up (like old school double dragon, battle toads, etc.)?

I'm looking for a game where two people team up and go through levels as a team so that I can play with mrs.skoorb cause she's not the best at video games (she's a girl! :Q). Are there any decent ones?

The baldur's gate game is pretty good, with a buddy. Dark Alliance i think is the name of it.

EDIT: LOL at your comment "she's a girl!" ROFL!

Dark Alliance is more action than RPG, i think it'd work for that purpose, plus it has the most realistic animated boobs i have EVER seen.

This is exactly why if someone says to get a ps2 I say get an xbox...I'm all about the 2 player coop games...such as tmnt2 the arcade game back in the day or double dragon or contra. Xbox is geared more towards coop games where u can all play together. That's what I like so much about consoles...if I want to sit down and play video games alone I'll play a damn computer game or somethin...its fun gettin a bunch of friends together drinkin some beers and playin some vids

Theres a game called The Bouncer by Squaresoft. Their only poor attempt at a beat'em up fighting game. It's a lot like Double Dragon with up to 4 players. Game only got medicore rating, but you can probably find it for around $15 used on ebay or other places.

I will ignore that statement. :p:p

The only game I can think of that is like that is Perfect Dark but it was for the N64. I don't know very many PS2 games so I'm not a lot of help. :)

Perfect Dark is a single player mission based game :) He wanted a Double Dragon beat'em up style (if you're not familiar with Double Dragon, Street of Rage and Final Fight has the same concept). Skoorb you made also try some PSX games, since PS2 is backward compatible, you have LOTS of varieties to choose from. Another one that came to mind is the Metal Slug series on PSX. I think the Die Hard arcade game for PSX is beat'em up also, but I remember it has poor graphics.

Oops!! I could have sworn that I played a level with my hubby where we walked around killing people as a pair. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

I wonder how come they dont make those games anymore....

Other goodies....Altered beast (first game for the genesis), golden axe, and who can forget such classics as toejam and earl, streets of rage, and they even had some great ninja turtle games.

Like lupohki said, Contra : Shattered Solider will be out for PS2 next month! :D

Overall though, the coop market is really small when all kids want to buy these days are games like GTA3. :(

Sentra seems right up my ally. That game was the kickest assmost asskick for the NES and I think this would be just for us :D
