PS or MB Prob - PLEASE HELP

I currently have a Thermaltake Xaser V case that comes with a 420 Watt PS. The case also has many fans in it so I am trying to figure out how to connect the fans. So this is the prob:

I have MB, PS, and 1 Case fan (this is an example of the prob). How do I power the case fan with this combo? When I try to run the case fan using just the PS, it won't spin. In fact, the fan in the PS won't spin either. When I add in the MB, the light (green LED) on the MB lights up, but the case fan won't spin and the fan in the PS won't spin either. I am not sure what I need to get the fan in the PS to spin and the case fan to spin.

ATX cable is connected. It's an A7N8X-E MB. I did not add CPU, Memory, HDD, or any other drives. It's just the 3 components mentioned above.

What do you guys think the problem is? Do I need more stuff to get the fans to run? Please let me know. Thank you.

I assume you have connected the motherboard correctly? (power/reset/hdd/speaker connectors on correct pins, ATX connector, etc.) If so: you motherboard should start beeping like an insane pig because nothing is installed. When it starts beeping the fans usually start too...

If it just won't do anything try adding at least a CPU.

Ok - definitely not the PS because I just used a PS tester and the fan in the PS spins fine.

I will check the motherboard connections. I read somewhere that how you plug it in may affect it as well? I know that I am plugging it into the right ones...but is it supposed to go in a certain way? How do I determine which way to plug it in? Thanks.

It shouldn't matter which way you plug it in. I know it's a stupid question, but have you actually turned on the computer (like put the MB in the case, attached the power buttons from the case to the board, and then powered up?). It seems from your description that you just plugged the things in, but you never actually jump started it so to speak with the power button...Otherwise if you don't want to put it in your case, you can just use a screw driver and find the right places to touch.

Okay - finally figured out what was wrong - the stupid button for the reset and the power button were switched up (cables running to each button). In addition, the stupid one going into the power button wasn't seated in there. So there was nothing attached to the button.

Another question - I have the speaker button connected. Nothing else is connected. Just PS, MB, and Case fan. Should the speaker be beeping? I don't hear it beeping. I want to test to make sure it works.
