PS/2 mouse problem

I feel headache for the mouse problem. what happened is the mouse is randomly stick, like that the cpu were stuck. Each time, it will take a few seconds. Then everything becomes normal. This happened not long after I loaded Win98SE. Can any of you help to solve the problem? it's hardly to say related to virus, though.
