ps/2 mouse causes instability, but I'm 100% stable with a serial mouse when overclocked?

well when I run at normal speed th ps/2 mouse works fine. when overclocked the ps/2 mouse freezes up but all my mp3's, and dvd keep on playing without a skip. everything works normal. when overclocked and using a serial mouse everthing works fine. this is totally weird as I never thought the ps/2 mouse port was somehow associated with the FSB.

i would never expect something of that nature to occur. what about a usb mouse?
