I have 2 keyboards that have been yanked on or fumbled over and the plug was pulled sideways and the wires have been pulled from the mini-din. Is this easy fix?

Yes. Walk/ride/drive/type yourself to a store and get a new one. j/k...kind of.

If the metal connectors have actually come out of the mini-din...I don't know if they can be put back in or not. If you just try placing them back in their correct positions, I can't think of a way to secure them there... I wouldn't want to leave one of those connectors inside my ps2 port!

Keyboards are fairly cheap (unless you get the fancy ones) and I'm not sure they are worth the effort/risk, but then again, maybe someone who actually knows what they are talking about will come in here and tell me to shut up...wouldn't be the first time (wouldn't be the first time i ignored them either ;)).

now, if the pins are just *bent* you can easily bend them back into position. YMMM but this has worked for me in the past (this could depend on just how mangled the pins are...)

good luck!

I'm sure you could do that. I'd probably lop off the connector from a keyboard They're all standardized. I would probably cut the wire, solder/heatshrink the keyboard and connector on. B.G. Micro has keyboards for $3.99. Gotta love the descriptions on some of their products. :D
