proxy.teamanandtech.com OGR lost units?

Only a fraction of my OGR blocks are showing up on the team proxy stats, even though they were submitted well before the most recent update. For example, I recently submitted 1.98 Tn in 24 work units, but 6 hours later, the stats at http://www.teamanandtech.com/dnet/ogr/weekstats/byemail.asp don't show them. The proxy used doesn't appear to be listed on http://www.iodbbs.com/tappstatus.cgi, but it is difficult to tell since the actual IP address used is not logged:

===============
dnetc v2.8007-458-CTR-00020716 for Linux (Linux 2.2.12-1b).
Using email address (distributed.net ID) 'edurant@engin.umich.edu'

[Dec 09 15:32:22 UTC] The perproxy says: "Drakkhen's Personal Proxy for Team
Anandtech!"
[Dec 09 15:32:22 UTC] Retrieved 2 RC5 packets (8 workunits) from server
[Dec 09 15:32:25 UTC] Sent 2 RC5 packets (8 workunits) to server
[Dec 09 15:32:25 UTC] Sent 24 OGR packets (24 workunits) to server

Is this in fact a proxy problem, or am I mistaken in thinking that the URL above has consolidated statistics for all the proxy.teamanandtech.com hosts?

No, unfortunately neither the IP address nor true DNS name is logged. My .ini file uses "proxy.teamanandtech.com", which I read was the proper proxy name to use.

It should still have the IP address in the console log files. Check that if you have them enabled.

I am also configured to use the round-robin, and just sent a few stubs through Drakkhen's pproxy. I checked my client's log, but it didn't have an IP.

This was the first time that I used the round-robin in a while, I had used Jator's pproxy before.

Thanks for the pointer, Jator, but none of my dnetc clients (Linux and Windows) include the IP address in the logs -- all that was logged is included in my first post. On Linux, I'm running 8007 and on Windows I'm running 8010. Here's how I have logging configured on all my clients:

-----------------
1) Log file type ==> no limit
2) File to log to ==> dnetc.log
3) Log by mail spool size (bytes) ==> 0 (mail disabled)
-----------------

Is there a more verbose logging option which is undocumented, or which I've missed?

If the master OGR-25 statistics at dnet are correct, those 1.98 Tn didn't get through for December 9 UTC.

Sorry, I thought you were using a pProxy to connect to the round robin. You are correct, the client won't give you the IP in it's log file.

I highly reccomend the pProxy for anyone with multiple machines, especially if you have a amachine that will let it run as a service (WinNT, Linux).

D'oh! I wasn't thinking straight earlier this afternoon. Drakkhen's pproxy is JonArendt. I didn't have it marked in my operator profiles, so I wasn't completely sure myself. 😱 I will send him an email and ask him if he could please check into it. Sorry about the problems! 🙁

Brad..

DNS lookup isn't working for the CORE at the moment.

My proxy is pulling 0.0.0.0 for Mika's IP. I changed the keyserver to the direct IP and the problem's solved.

Just a note though. Hope that the problem either resolves on auto or Brad sees it in time or other proxy operators change to the IP. Else We're gonna have lots of blocks held. I'm not running my own DNS server though, so the problem might not be that bad.

Just realised something.

If DNS for the CORE isn't working, it's definitely not working for the RR either. In essence, every client which is set to update to proxy.teamanandtech.com is getting nothing.

Problem appears to be solved. hmm...that was fast! I was hoping to make use of the DNS downtime to clean my proxy. hehe

Humm, that's extremely odd. I'm not aware of Mika or Brad doing any work on the core this morning, so I'm a tad worried.😱 Hopefully, it's just a bad DNS update, and nothing major.🙂

Just saw this, but I guess everything is OK now. Been having kind of a busy weekend! I will see if I can determine what the problem was!

Hmm... It's 2 days later and the 1.98 Tn have not shown up in the distributed.net statistics. However, I do see what are probably them in the team statistics. It's hard to know for sure since I have 5 other machine running OGR and they only work through their buffers and update over the network every week or two. I think I should set up a personal proxy to forward to one of the team proxies as Jator suggested so I can track this stuff better.

Are 2 day lags through the team proxies normal, or was this just a glitch?

Most likely just a glitch. One of the BB's probably roamed out away from Mika's.🙁

Hmmm, this might explain the second holdup.
Dnet proxy constipation
Perhaps you ran into delays at 2 of the Proxies along the way.
Every team's stats are way down for Monday at Dnet, and the ThunderStorm is missing 4 Tnodes.
The Netherlands proxy is still holding work, but the other has flushed, so we should see our missing work at Dnet on the next stats run.

BTW, Pproxies do not fall back to another keyserver UNLESS the target host proxy is really a round robin. For instance I dump to jator.2y.net, and when I can't connect, my proxy just patiently waits and tries again at about ten minutes intervals until it finally connects with him.
