As a result of sitting on my ass all day everyday, I've developed a pressure sore that I need healed as quick as possible....besides straightening out my vitamin intake, I need protein, alot more than I can eat, too.

I know some of you guys know about this stuff, so I'd like to hear your opinions.

I'm looking for a powder most likely, chocolate, I'd like to mix it with milk, taste okay, and have a reasonable cost.....So, basically the same crap everyone looks for :p

I've tried MetRX, which was ok but had a horrible texture, and have been suggested Myoplex...I've had these problems before, but my protein came from tube feedings (i was deathly ill) that cost $250 a quart - so, uhh no ;)

Thanks

IMO, Met-RX makes the best protein shake in terms of taste. Its expensive though, compared to others.

Protein supplements isn't going to help for it. Try not sitting on your ass for so long and maybe getting an ass message.

If money is no object, get Muscle Milk. I've probably tried every single protein powder out there (if you do a search for the archive, i'm sure you'll find one where i reviewed like 20), and Muscle Milk is hands down the best tasting one. But not only is it expensive, it's also has about 18g of fat per serving. But man, oooooh so good

The ones from Instone (Sylverster Stallone company) is ok if i recall (i forgot the name, and actually only tried it once because it was a free sample).

Another good one is the ProLab Orange-Vanilla Swirl, and it's pretty damn cheap too. A lot of people will claim Optimum tastes good, but it's crap. It's about a 6/10 imo on taste, which is better than most protein out there, but certainly NOWHERE near the best. Muscle Milk gets a 10/10, that stuff is just unbelievably good.

And fvck Met-Rx... that stuff tastes like ass. On a 1-10, it's definitely on the lower 5.. maybe 3-4 imo.

If you're in the US, and need cheap supplements, with great price on shipping and seriously one of the best customer service around, go to www.bulknutrition.com i've been ordering from that guy for like 4-5 years, long before he even had that website, and he's still as good today as he was back then, when he was doing everything from the back of his small supplement shop (now he has a big warehouse, but service is still FANTASTIC). Ordering from Canada, i get raped on taxes, and he always marks the value on it like $10 so i don't get hit. He even shipped me pro-hormones/pro-steroids before, and that crap is highly illegal in Canada.

I have tried Prolab Orange Swirl and currently using ON's chocolate mint.. I have to say ON chocolate + milk tastes WAY better than Prolab

Don't use milk... use water. Milk will be WAAY too thick.

Another good protein is Syntrax Nectar: http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=518
This stuff literally tastes like juice... and GOOD juice. Something like you would drink on a hot afternoon. It's not thick at all, and doesn't seem like it's made of milk... better something akin to like Kool-Aid. If you get this, DON'T use a blender, it turns it frothy and then it tastes like crap. Just put it in a cup, and stir it with a spoon for 10 sec, and you have yourself a great tasting drink. 10/10 for this as well. You can't get better tasting and more refreshing than this. Think of this like Gatorade but actually tasting good.

Oh, did i mention that is 0 carbs and 0 fat as well! and 23g of protein.

Best protein I've had is Optimum Nutrition's "Vanilla Ice Cream" flavor, mixed in milk (tolerable in water but nowhere near as good). For the love of all things holy, do not try their cookies & cream flavor though!

Yeah, i have to agree. Cookies and Cream is their most awful flavor (2/10). They must have just jumped on the bandwagon and didn't do any development at all. Their mint chocolate is ok, but still a 6/10. If you want Cookies and Cream, get Prolab... that's decent, like 7/10.

On another note, don't get Optimum Strawberry either (2/10)

When I did protein drinks is was more of a penance than trying to find something that tasted good. What I didn find that it's imperative that you mix whatever you find in a high-powered blender and do not rely on lesser mixing methods. Blend the sh!t out of it - the creamy texture makes all the difference on the scale of palatability.

I like Optimum's Pro-Complex the best. I usually get choclate, but my roomate got rocky road and he liked that as well - it has 55g of protein per two-scoop serving. A 4.4 lb container is about 40-45 bucks.

I think I'll go with the Muscle Milk...Good amount of protein, damn good reviews, but my only worry is the fat.

How often would I drink this? Daily?

Well i'm still not too sure why you need high protein intake, so i really can't comment on that.

But how about picking up muscle milk for a shake every day or every other day, and then another protein, like that Nectar, for daily use. If the Nectar is too expensive (which it is), get something like ProLab Cookies and Cream.

ooops sorry I missed that part
I'm not a doctor but I've taken a nutrition class in college. You should not need to take supplements if you're eating three regular meals a day, as they are already providing a sufficient amount of protein. If you are skipping meals, then the supplements will be useful as a meal replacement so you get the needed protein, but they are not magic powders that will heal you.
I currently use PRO-RATED Alpine Vanilla flavored whey protein 6lb for $20 at costco, 23g protein, 0fat/carbs. It tastes great and makes a great meal replacement when I blend it with soy milk and and a spoonful of black sesame powder(I think this is a chinese thing). Tastes great without the sesame powder too, but I need that extra bit of protein and carbs in my meal replacer.

See what i mean earlier? People will keep mentioning Optimum... the stuff is cheap, and good quality, but it tastes like crap, especially if you've tried the designer and higher quality protein that's out there. Don't get me wrong, Optimum is great if you're on a budget, but there are some great tasting stuff out there now that just blows Optimum away in the taste department.
