WTF?! Whey protein = sooo much more cost effective than meat.

Oh oh, calm down roid boy. Id rather have steak than a bottle of powder mixed with water.

Roid boy? I don't think so, bud. Anyways, I love me a good steak, also, it's not like I crave whey, lol, but when you're in a hurry (pre and post workout, you have to go all the whey! lol). Yeah, but for breakfast, lunch and dinner, meat pwns.

Try Protein Factory
You can choose from tons of individual powders and mix in flavors, sweeteners, and vitamins at will.
I get acne from whey, so I use their egg proteins. I always get them with stevia (hate those chemical sweeteners!), but I usually have to add more of my own to make it sweeter. Their best flavors I've tried are vanilla, raspberry lemonade, tropical orange, and fruit punch. Chocolate, natural grape, natural orange, and natural strawberry are terrible. Regular orange tastes like orange creamsicle, which I don't really like.

LOL, read my new edit, I kind of flew off the handle pre-edit.

I think they call that roid rage. ;)

LOL, the only supplement I take is Whey, and that is pretty "softcore," I would say. It's like egg whites, powderized! And I don't believe in roids, as I think that it's BS that I have to bust my ass like 100x harder in the gym, than someone who can just pop some roids and work like 1/100. What's the point? The reason I like working out is the rush, the adrenaline, the reward from hard work, I don't think a cheater would feel the same way. It's like someone who hacked to win the CPL championship. Sure you get some money, but there's no point in even competing.

2 10lb bags! No whey! :p Eat some natural protein (chicken and tuna and turkey and sh1t), too, F22.

Trust me I do get my protein from my diet. The number one rule is don't buy supplements until your diet is in check, otherwise it's a waste. My diet has been solid for the past 8 or 10 years I should say. Anyway that isn't that much, just my protein, I usually spend around $400-$500 a month on my supplements, maybe more depending on what I run out of.

More like 20K a year from what I heard on an HBO Sports Talk Show.

BTW do you make enough as a Professional Power Lifter to pay for your supplements, gym, etc?

BTW do you make enough as a Professional Power Lifter to pay for your supplements, gym, etc?

I get most of my basic supplements for free from companies like Gaspari Nutrition and BSN for being a company rep on message boards and going to expos. But, some of the stuff I still have to pay for, like my protein and some other more advanced stuff that the companies that support me do not carry (I am completely clean though, we have random testing), for example before the pro-hormones were banned. Even then I can usually work a discount by buying at competitions or buying a lot at one time. But I do not make enough to cover all my costs of living (okay actually barely anything) by being a powerlifter so I used to own an auto detailing shop to get by and am currently inbetween jobs living off some investments. The only time I actually get paid by being a powerlifter is either endorsements, which I am no where near popular enough to get, winning compeitions (which are not much at all) or the small amount I receive each month from certain companies I represent at expos like I said.

As for the gym, I work out with 5 other guys in one of my friend's garages. We all have chipped in over the years to buy the weights, benches, and racks, and the different types of bars and sleds and things, most of it is from Elite Fitness Systems, expensive but it really holds up. I do belong to a 24 hour gym here for $45 a month because sometimes I cannot make the time we all lift, or he has something going on at his house, but that isn't often. For the most part it is fellow fitness gurus who know their stuff, so the gym allows chalk and no one minds loud screaming when pulling a deadlift or something. I would kill myself though if I had to lift at one of those commerical gyms where I would get the police called on me by some moron who thought my preworkout and postworkout drinks and pills that I carried with me in a bag was steroids (yes it happened).

I'd call it a hobby, but I put way too much time in it for it to be otherwise. I am only 27 so I have a lot of time left to do things in my career.

EDIT: Yeah 20k sounds about right, I was going by what it used to be in 1997 when it became big.

Okay, I have a really stupid question about protein and mixability....

So, I make my shakes in a blender, and I use ON Double Rich Chocolate or whatever it's called. I even have a fancy "smoothie" blenders with the variable speeds and everything (which I, of course, didn't buy, but managed to get anyway). So, I pour my shake to a cup, drink it, and I always notice some residue on the cup and the blender pitcher thingee dealio. Now, given that I worry about getting enough protein anyway (it's hard getting 200 grams a day -- I'm 6'4", about 202, and lean...trying to get a little bigger), am I crazy for rinsing off the pitcher and pouring it back into the cup, and swirling around and drinking that last bit of watery whateverness? Cuz I'd hate to be missing out on anything (and I know that 1 gram -- if that -- of protein that sticks to the side of the glass is the difference between ripped and not ripped)....

Okay, I'm crazy. But my point is, is that protein on the sides of the cup/blender, or some other ingredient, or...?

Just get an old gatorade bottle and a funnel and mix all your drinks in that and shake for 30 seconds. Drink, then refill it with water and chase it down, you get everything, and you get the water you should be drinking. That's how I always do it, I use the gatorade bottles until they crack. Go to BJ's or the like and buy a case.
