Protecting a leather couch from sunlight?

Hi Guys,

I'm in need of buying a new couch as my old one is falling apart. I want to buy a leather couch because i like the look/feel of them, however, i have a very large window near my ceiling which covers a lot of my living room with sunlight:

It would be impossible to position the couch so that it wouldn't have any sunlight touching it.

I know sunlight is bad for leather. However, if i apply conditioner to the leather every now and then, can i protect the leather from the sunlight or will it eventually damage the leather?

My leather sofa has been in front of an 8' wide glass door for 13 years and it seems to be fine. The only thing I've ever done to it is wipe the puke off when the cat isn't feeling well.

Get some tinted film, or decorative privacy film for the window. Maybe some faux stained glass?
