And how many people go hungry every day in that shit hole? Besides, how come Hindus love the shit out of cows, but you go one genus over and it's "fuck 'em all"?

And how many people go hungry every day in America? Besides, how come Americans love the shit out of horses, but you go one genus over and it's "fuck 'em all"?

Uhh, one genus over is like a Zebra or something. Nepal has a 50% poverty rate. And American isn't religion and horses aren't holy. I suppose we do like horsies though.

Horses are sacred in America in everything but name. There are laws against killing them for meat, or selling or shipping them to other countries for meat. Actually it's even stupider than any religious practice, since at least sometimes there's merit in old religious beliefs. Ours is just some illogical emotional horse fetish.

Perhaps, but holy cattle isn't one of them. An illogical belief isn't better just because it's old or religious. But even if the taboo against horse meat is irrational, it at least has a pragmatic underpinning as a result of our history of using them for labor and transportation. Besides, it gets lonely during those cold prairie nights.
