I made an order for 2x19" LCD monitors but the deal fell through b/c they didnt have them in stock when it clearly shows that they do on their website so I cancelled the order.

So now I'm browsing looking for something to spend my $600 tax refund check and came across a 27" LCDTV with HD capabilities. It's native resolution is 1280x720 with 750:1 contrast ratio and 15ms response time. It's also has DVI and D-sub inputs allowing PC use. It's going for $900 but I'm willing to throw in the rest if this is a good idea.

Can anyone tell me some pros and cons of this setup? It would be ****ing sweet having a 27" 16:9 screen.

If you're willing to spend $900, I'd strongly consider the Dell 2405FPW -- about $1100 (last I checked), 24" widescreen, 12ms response, 1920x1200 res (so it can do native 1080i/p and has component inputs for HD content). The 2005FPW (20" widescreen, 1680x1050 res) is usually down in the $500-600 range with a decent deal from Dell.

The downside to an "LCD TV" is that TVs generally have a significantly lower dot pitch than computer monitors -- 1280x720 is a VERY low res for a 27" display (unless you plan to be sitting 7-10 feet away from it, sort of negating the purpose of having such a big display IMO). Consider that 17-19" computer LCDs run at 1280x1024, which is a *higher* res than the 27" LCD TV.
