Pros/Cons of joining the Army?

Sorry, but the army is almost a joke now.

They will take anyone will a pulse.

My gf's sis went and somewhow quit without getting punished. She went in as a somewhat bright girl and came back as a weed smoking annoying little leeching ass that cannot make a simple decision. I thought the army was supposed to straighten a person out, but it did the opposite for her.

I appreciate all the responses. I just recently heard of this in the Christmas card she sent me, so there's no definate answer yet. I'm sure I'll know after the Holidays.

I wanted to join to get cheaper motorcycle insurance but they don't accept non US citizens. At least that's what I think I read on the site.
