I really wish my Xbox had more than 20gb. I have to delete stuff to make room for new downloads or new saves.

Yeah, mine has 20 GB and after all the bullsh*t on it that MS forces the actual usable space is WAY less than that, the end result being it's good for about one disc-based game install at a time.

Got a 2.5" WD 250-320 GB HDD lying around? Put it to use. Buy the 4GB model and flash the HDD to work on the 360. The 360 Slim uses a standard SATA connector, and that fancy plastic case can be bought for like 10 bucks on eBay. Or just stuff it in there and find something to support the weight of the drive.

Bumping this up because I just picked up a 4GB Kinect version ($200 for the Xbox, Kinect, plus two games) for the wife and after reading this I am a little bit concerned about the size.

This will be used almost entirely by my wife for Kinect games, the dancing and training stuff. It will not be used for movies at all nor do I plan on using it for any of the XBLA games, so keeping that in mind, is the 4GB still too small? I did notice on the dance game that I could download all of the old songs for free after entering a code, so that will probably eat into the storage a bit, but I really have no idea of how much space that kind of stuff takes up.

I have another 21 days before the return deadline, but just thought I would check in with you guys who know these systems far better than me.

Thanks.

KT

this is one of the rasons i want a kinect. my kids played one and loved it.

It's well known that the first generation of 360's sucked reliability wise. I sold my launch one three years ago before it bit the dust and earlier this year picked up a 250gb Slim and they are infinitely better now.

Exactly. It did suck and a lot of people (including 3 people I know) had one or more severe hardware failures.

Bu ton the other hand it was never certain (I had and know it is still working a launch week premium). And it would be actually very unlikely now for anyone to have any issues with one made in the last 3-4 years.

It's being sold for about $149.99 now 🙂

I picked up the 4gb with Kinect & Nike+ training game tonight, it frustrates me MS didn't offer a higher priced bundle where I could have gotten the 250gb model with Kinect & the Nike+ game.
