anyone have any links/advice/experience with this?

I have two handsprings.

The blue one has a cracked LCD.

the black one has a bad IR port.

otherwise these machines are in perfect condition.

I want to know how tough it is to take the LCD out of the black one and put it in the blue one. It can be done... but how tough?

any and all input requested.

i have no idea, but every lcd screen i've ever seen from the inside looked like something i wouldn't even try swapping out. I've never seen an IR port, but i would bet money that they are far simpler to remove and replace. I'm not about to pull apart my palm to find out though.

Hmm, IMHO the LCD should be connected with a ribbon cable or two that is connected to the main board with a removeable connector. That said, if it is indeed soldered, then your best bet is to get a friend to transplant the IR receiver/transmitter for you. This procedure would be the simplest/safest.

i agree. My Palm IIIX was just a ribbon. YMMV
