Ok here's a weird one!!! I have MS Office XP (Word, Excel, Power Point, Front Page, Outlook) Home Edition. It works great and in general I have no problems until I want to open certain Office applications, download templates from the Microsoft site or use the tools in the resourse kit. In those cases I get an error message saying that I do not have proplus.msi. I did a search of all my files and nothing comes up with the .msi extention. I have had my Office XP reinstalled and still proplus.msi is not there. When I did an internet search I found a 'gripe' site where several people had posted with the same problem, so I know it's not just me. Is there anyone among you who can give me this application file so i can restore my Ofiice XP?

This link says run "dcomcnfg" but when I run this it produces no results. It also suggests right clicking the root hard disk and clicking "properties" but this does not show as an option to choose. 'Also tried to find "security tab", "select users", "computers or groups", and "system account" could not find any of these. Right now I'm still looking for msiregmv.exec download page like what the link also says. Anymore suggestions?

Another Possible cause.

When you go to the page if it isnt what you are looking for just type proplus.msi in the search box at the top right of the page and MS has a BUNCH of pages with that file referenced.
