My friends having a probelm with his printer. I tried helping, but I couldn't fix it.

i have a hp deskjet 932c printer and when i attempt to print, i get an error message...so i think ok, its the drivers. i get the newest drivers, doesnt work. i go into the control pannel and try to add a printer and an error message comes up saying "operation could not be completed"

-so i cant install the printer
-or print

and hp says its not the printer, its the OS,
and im lost in a n00b wonderland

so plz help before my mom chokes me 😛...thanks a lot.
he's running XP.

Would help knowing what the Exact error is that you are recieving.

Did you remove try removing the printer and then rebooting?
Let WinXP re-detect it and then install the drivers.

Have you tried:

Restart it
Kick it
Reformat it
Throw it off a cliff

Just kidding......

anyhow, what version of WINXP? Does he have permissions to add printers?

Try adding with an account that has power or local admin rights.....

My $.02

heres some more info...

he has XP home and he is using the first account made on that comp. should he try going into safe mode and unistalling it with the admin account there? it was and upgrade, if that helps.

You don't have to boot in Safe Mode to uninstall.

Just Log On with Administrative privileges and uninstall.
The Reboot and Log On again with Admin Priv.

Windows should detect the printer (have it turned on) and
direct Windows to the location of the New drivers.
