Hi guys, i just bought a Retail 3D Prophet II MX (GMX), from Hercules/Guillemot, to replace my old but trusty Creative Labs TNT2 Ultra Card. Problem is that i can only use the GMX on the Standard VGA drivers. If i install the Guillemot Drivers, or the 6.18 Detonator drivers, windows hungs without even showing a pixel. I stripped all the components from my motherboard leaving it just with the GMX. Any idea please! Do i have to change motherboard???

Do the obious things try the 5.xx series of drivers. If that does not work then try updating your motherbord bios to the latest version.

I'm having the exact same problem that kwanbis is having (he also posted a message at the HardwareCentral forums concerning this) with the exact same retail 3D Prophet II Geforce2 MX card on my FIC VA-503+. I've reformatted, tried tons of different drivers, and almost everything else I can think of to stop this problem. Weird thing is, I bought a TNT2 M64 just before I bought the GeForce2 MX and it also did the exact same thing that the GeForce2 is doing. Just in case it matters, here are my system's specs..

FIC VA-503+ (Latest BIOS)
AMD K6-3 400MHz
128MB RAM (cas2)
Fujitsu 10.8GB HD
SoundBlaster AWE64
Kingston EthrX Networking Adapter
Standard Floppy Drive
24X Kenwood CD-ROM
