Prophet DDR Video Card Problem

Hi all,

I'm using a Hercules 3D Prophet DDR-DVI video card on a Abit BE6-II board. I'm using a slot 1 PII 400 mhz chip, SB Live Value, and no overclocking. I've downloaded latest Detonator 3 driver. Here's my problem:

I'm getting a shimmering picture when Win98SE loads. This also happens during the start of some games. Otherwise, the card runs fine, and the display is fine. Just during the startup of the splash screen and some games (Age of Empires). Any advice? I was having problems trying to find the latest driver for the board.

Thanks
blues

What kind of a monitor are you running? Is it a Trinitron by any chance?
Is your monitor cable firmly plugged into the VGA port of the video card?

Have u checked the refresh rates, if its not picking the best sets for your monitor it could be defaulting to a low refresh. Also if its only age of empires and start screen then it's probably just the 256 color setting u need to change. Try setting 256 on desktop and then setting your adapter to a user defined refresh [ should have default values in your monitor handbook but if not 75 or 85 is pretty standard].
