A couple of questions...first off, how's the 2d quality with the kyro chipset (running 19" monitor at 1024x768)? (Specifically this card). Secondly, I was at the Hercules website, and I don't see any Kyro drivers there. Reason I mention this is that I'm considering the 64 mb 4500 version (oem), and I've never purchased an OEM card before and I don't seem to see them there. Lastly, because I'm a cheap SOB (and Canadian), if I can order tonight, I can save the shipping fees...any help (soon) would be greatly appreciated...

Well I can't answer any of your other questions, but OEM cards, even though they don't have their original packaging, do still include a driver disk. So you will be all right until they get updated drivers on the site.

Don't have one, but I'll try to help:

1) From what I've read, 2D quality of the Kyros is uniformly good, except for Kyro I cards made by Power Color; those are a bit uneven - some good, some poor.

2) I also noticed the absence of drivers - if you need them, PowerVR.com has the OEM drivers available, or you can try Videologic once their support pages for the Vivid!XS are up.

3) If you're buying an OEM Hercules card, I'd check the memory speed. Hercules has a tradition of shipping slower memory on its OEM cards. Retail cards should ship with 5 or 5.5ns SDRAM.

Good luck. If you get the Kryo 2 report back.
