Hey, got a cordless MX duo which I love, but I stupidly spilled some food under the spacebar that I couldn't get out from shaking, blowing, etc, and had to take the space bar off. I tried putting it back in but now it's very loud and sometimes doesn't register. Is there a special way to put it back in? Something I need to do with those unusual metal hooks? Thanks for the expertise...

Be careful, I took mine off to clean the keyboard and I broke the mofo putting it back on, so the right side doesn't work.

snap the hooks into the space bar and let them hang down. hold the space bar at an angle, with the plastic post just about to fit into the slot. line the hooks up carefully with the plastic slots in the keyboard and press them in, then carefully press the space bar into the post. it's a pain in the ass.
