Proper way to format and install XP?

I ahve windows installed on my C drive with storage on My D drive. Now obviously I want to wipe the C drive clean and reinstal XP on that same portion of the disk. What I did before was just boot from the Cd and delete the C partition, and then create a new C partition on that same space as createing the partition formats the disk. space. It seems to do the trick just fine as I have done it numerous times. Just wanted some c omments on if I am doing anything wrong.

I wouldn't call it obvious... Why do you want to wipe and re-install?

Otherwise, your method seems to be simple and effective = good.

Hahaha well I guess your right, it isnt that obvious. I havnt re-formated this computer in around 8 months So I feel its about time. A lot of stuff has accumulated on it an most is useless programs and junk.

If you want to get hard-core about it you can download a formatting utility from the manuf. of your hard drive that will write 0s to every sector on the drive before re-installing windows. That's usually what I do to really clean house but it's probably overkill.
