Ok, my neighbor has a dog that is always getting on my property and shatting the place up. I hate the shat of dogs on my lawn. I'm not sure how to handle the situation exactly, having never had to deal with something like this.
Thus, I turn to ATOT for ideas and a possible resolution.

Its a real pretty white dog (Looks like a hairy white lab, I dunno) so I'm loathe to go with a military campaign, and I'd hate to see the dog get put down so requesting assistance from my Allies doesnt seem the best course of action either. But, this guy is pretty good sized and doesnt seem all that friendly, and I'd hate to see he operates much like Isreal with a First Strike policy, and the minute I say something I catch quick decisive military action to my face.

Thoughts?

Invade, and set up a pro-Spec government. Then plunder their natural resources (the fridge), and return home a conquering hero.

Plenty of laws regarding loose dogs, tell neighbor you want it stopped in a nice tone of voice, if that doesnt work, animal control complaint.. IF possibly making a enemy of your neighbor over it is worth it, do it.

You have ot be careful with this, I was involved with this a long time ago, as the dog owner.

My dog occasionally broke the"trolley line" he was hooked to, that ran between a huge tree in the back yard, and the side of the house. One day, he broke it, and took off. Normally, it made a hugely loud "TWANG" when it snapped, but this time, we heard nothing. He used to stay out there for a long time, and so I didn't check on him for a while. All of a sudden, I look out the window, and he's about a 1/4 of a mile away. Damn!! So I run out there, and when I catch up to where he was, this old guy was chasing him with a pitchfork. I run over and grab the pitchfork and he starts yelling about my "dog dumping on his yard all the time!" There's over a hundred feet of cable draggin behind my dog, and he got loose once or twice a year for maybe a half hour each time, so obviously, he's nuts. I start to try to rationally explain to him that my dog wasn't the dog crapping in his yard, but he was off the deep end. All of a sudden, he goes after him again. I am a big guy, and I finally grabbed him, and held him by the neck, and explained to him that if he does anything to my dog, he's going to want me to put the pitchfork in and finish him off. There were a dozen dogs that wandered loose, and mine wasn't the dog. Then, he threatens to shoot him, and runs inside the house. Here come the cops a little while later, and after I talked to them, they went down and told him they would be cuffing him up if anything happend to my dog, they told him the dog "Was a friend of ours, and we don't like the friends of law enforement being killed, GOT IT??"

He never messed with my dog again...

But I woul try talking to the neighbor, and then maybe a fence might be good. Or move.

I like the poll format :)

Personally, I'd go for the fence, and just shovel the leavings over onto his lawn while the fence was being built. Do be certain taht it is just his dog, though, 'cause he'll have a legitimate gripe if your yard just happens to be the popular spot for all the neighborhood dogs.
