I had the CPU (a 4200+) come out attached to heatsink here as well. Motherboard socket lever still firmly in the locked position. Unfortunately it got attached to the heatsink like that AGAIN in the new mobo it was moved to during installation, and most of a row of pins got bent trying to get the heatsink installed.

That stock thermal interface material becomes like superglue!

I never thought I could of RMAd it when it was obviously damaged during install like that!

Design issue my butt. The guy didn't know and didn't bother asking. He just cranked and broke. Pure negligence, period.

If I'm paying an extra $5 per CPU because You Morons can't remove a CPU heatsink properly, then color me pissed. We pay enough for stupidity in this world, without adding to my CPU prices for Clear Negligence On Your Part.

The first time I tried to remove a CPU it was stuck like a rock and I booted up and logged in to a message board and got some suggestions. They were useful many times after that, and as a result I've never damaged one.

If that is Too Much Effort For You, then you'll have to excuse me if I think You're A Loser for inflating my retail prices.

I can just imagine how many CPUs You RMAd before the days of the IHS. Loser.

Used Arctic Silver Ceramique on my Athlon64 4000+ and my XP-90C lifted right off after a year and three months of daily use. I'll stick with this thermal compound as long as they make it. Great stuff! Cleans up easily as well.
