Proper Settings for amd dual core and gaming

On an HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop, while gaming, it appears that only one CPU is doing all of the work. Is there something that needs to be done to make both CPUs share the load?

Looking in the bios, some of the settings seem to be hidden. Is there a key combo to turn on additional bios settings?

Thanks,

only one CPU is doing the work because the program/game you are using is a single-threaded program so it'll only use one core.

Are games ever multithreaded? Do you know the key combo to unlock the HP bios? Can't access anything to overclock.

Some games are multithreaded, and more are on the way. It's relatively new.

Also don't worry about overclocking your laptop. Your BIOS won't support it. Even if it did, you're using parts that aren't designed with OC in mind (although I don't know what hardware is in your laptop) and the laptop is engineered to specific thermal thresholds. In other words, if you had a magic BIOS that allowed you to use a divider and crank your voltage you would be unstable from the git-go.

Build a desktop FTW!

There are a couple that are multithreaded, with a few more supposedly on the way, in the next year.

There isn't one.
