Proper name for "gross bugs"?

there are these bugs that i just call the gross bug.

its a hybrid between a daddy longlegs and a mosquito, big SOB

found two in my room in the past couple hours

That's what I've always been told they are. Up north we call them by their proper name though, mosquito hawks.

yes! this is the bug. actually this is a secondary gross bug. "THE" gross bug looks like a cross between a grasshopper and a shrimp.. brownish colour with these evil shrimp eyes.. only see them at night. I kill them in cold blood whenever i see them. i hate those bastards.
