Proper bios setting for processor? Help

May have a problem with either dramm speed or processor setup. Looking for anyone that might know the correct manual bios setting for an AMD barton2500+ 333 Bus on an ASUS A7V8x board running PC 2700 Ram.
Had it at 11 multiplier and 166/33cpu external frequency . The memory freq. is set at 333.
It would kick into safe mode on bootup and give me a message about system memory must run at equal to CPU or higher.
 
I set it that way last night and it seems better. Was also thinking of going to the 1012 bios. it has 1010 now. I was wondering if the 1010 has the 2500 at the upper end of the support limts.
