A true National disgrace:

Sen. Johnson's Comments Commending Jan. 6 Rioters Generate Outrage

Forbes|29 minutes ago

Democratic lawmakers and progressive pundits slammed Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) following his description of the mob of pro-Trump insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 as people who "truly respect law enforcement" and "love this country,

Is there ANY reason he should not be expelled from Congress immediately?

Yeah, read about that. Basically he is saying that his people would never do terrible things. And he says that after the Trump appointed FBI director just testified that there is no evidence whatsoever of any left wing involvement in those riots. He, Cruz and Hawley are truly racing to the bottom in a competition for biggest asshole in the US Senate right now. And it's quite a competitive field even beyond those three.

Like I said in another thread, republicans are more dangerous because they’ve convinced their base that their actions were patriotic and here’s Johnson reinforcing those beliefs.

That's a very interesting slant at interjecting racism into the deadly Trump incited and supported insurrection that occurred at the Capitol.

Johnson got a two-fer out of that remark. He appeased his "patriotic" militant insurrectionist conservative constituency as well as the supremacists/racists of his party. Nice job there dude at employing that 'ol "I'm not a racist but I support their views" shtick.

Going to be interesting to see how he walks that one back if he ever tries to.

Wanted to point that out, but didn't want to seem like a douche. Thanks for seeming like a douche for me.
I guess in your eyes its obviously better to BE a douche than to look like one.

You should run in place of Trump for 2024.

You know I was just sort of kidding around right? Clarification: I really did seriously consider posting exactly that, even queued it up, then hit cancel. I frequently have the urge to do that, and have done it in the past, but people have gotten all over me for being a grammatical nitpicker. So like I said, yeah, thanks for doing it because "unredeemable" really did bug the crap out of me.

Well, since Trump won't be on any tickets in 2022, and Democratic voters tend to shy away from midterm elections, I say let the Republicans keep own-goaling themselves to give Democrats and the .02% of sane Republicans a reason to vote for the clearly not-insane party in 2022.
