ProMOS Technologies has become the first DRAM maker in Taiwan to officially introduced volume production at 70nm ... yields for the first batch of DRAM fabricated on 70nm reached an average of 71.6% with the best rate hitting 89% ... ProMOS is scheduled to complete validation with memory-module makers and OEMs within two weeks ...

While leading memory makers are mostly projecting a 20-30% average selling price (ASP) drop in the first quarter of 2007, recent sluggish pricing has edged some DDR2 ASPs close to production costs.

Woohoo, this ought to reduce projected DDR2 price increases caused by Vista-induced memory binges.

I wonder if ProMOS will produce any ICs as good as Micron D9s on this process?
