Promise Ultra100 and AK31/KT266 conflict

I recently installed an AK31 motherboard, and noticed that the ATA/100 drives connected to my Promise Ultra100 card were being identified as PIO 4 drives, and naturally failed to boot. Now this is a BIOS issue, as the Promise has its own BIOS and recognizes drivers long before any drivers/etc. load. I have tried another Ultra100 with the same result.

The thing that really bugs me is thatmy Promise Ultra66 works perfectly in my AK31 (KT266), and the Promise Ultra100 works perfectly in my 8KTA3 (KT133A). This is why I blame the problem on a BIOS conflict.

Can anyone confirm this problem or offer a suggestion for solving it?

I have a Promise FastTrak100 TX2 RAID controller and it works fine on the AK31 (rev2). Not much help but I figured I'd add that to the mix.
