fresh install..ibm 30gig ata 100..be62 rev1
latest mb bios.. latest bios and driver for the card
drive on ata33..install driver..switch drive to pci card
..hoses install...in bios.. boot to scsi..yes..boot other ..no
have tried a few variations..no go
if this helps..the hpt picks up the drive correctly..dma5..etc
but NOO control-h will actually let me in to the hpt bios
hmmm?

Try installing windows setup files and the hpt drivers on the hd using the ata33 controller. Switch it over to the hpt controller and boot up using the startup floppy. Make sure the hpt controller is in a pci slot that is not shared.
 
Is this a promise controller card or a high point controller card? Your title says one thing, but your post is about another.
