I couldn't get my drives to boot with that.It says you have to install the drivers for the card in your os and then move your HD's to the controller.WINDOWS 2000 DOSE NOT LIKE THIS(it WONT boot). This is a great card if you are using it for extra storage and NOT your OS(s)I dont know where to get it right now but it will cost about $35 for the reguler version and the raid version is about $135

HiFi, the mobo is a GATEWAY Tabor3 WS440BX Tabor3 4000504-211
The BIOS is an Intel Corp. 4W4SB0X0.15A.0017.P12 12/21/1999
I'm running W98 SE. I'm looking for the regular Ultra ATA 100 card. I just picked up an IBM DeskStar 75GXP hard drive, 46.11 Gigs. I'm replacing a Quantum FireBall Plus KX 20 Gig. The Quantum is plugged into a Promise Tech Ultra ATA 66 controller card, and I thought I should upgrade it to match the specs on the IBM.

I just set up a raid system yesterday using the older fasttrack 33 card it was very simple and straight forward but I was loading win98 as the operating system. I don't know if they have drivers for win 2000 yet. As for a place to buy I frequent mwave and the link is directly to the page you want. Hope that helps.

I haven´t tried to add the controller to an existing w2k installation so i´m out of experience there, but the manual are quite straightforward on that issue: Install the drivers, shutdown add yur controller and then boot.
As said, i haven´t tried that but installing w2k clean with the controller attached isn´t any problems at all. Just press F6 in the beginning of the installation process (when you are given the option) and then put in the diskette with the drivers and it works. just as simple as that, no problems.

I added one to my Win98SE system. Just ghosted the drive over to the new one, slapped the new one on the Ultra100 and away we went. Got mine from buy.com.

I have installed a couple dozen of these controllers cards on existing Win2k machines and never had any problems with them. I am not sure what HIFImaster is doing wrong but, The Ultra 100 runs fine in Win2k with the boot drive attached to it.

When I moved the drives to the ata/100 ,It would give me a blue screen saying"Boot path invalid, check your drives for virus's,if this is the first time you have seen this message reboot your computer"(and prey:()but it would just keep going to that same screen everytime I boot:confused:I think its worth a try seeing as though you have an ata/66 you would be replacing. It could just be the motherboard I was using (abit SH6,I wanted to have 3 cdroms and 3 harddrives in this system but it didnt work out:()Good luck!!
