I have a EpoX 8K7A (not +) and I wanna add RAID. I am looking at getting the Promise Fasttrak 100TX2 RAID Controller Card.

Right now I have 2 20gig drives, so I wanna run them at RAID 0 for speed. But I want a 3rd drive to store excess data (Movies, Downloads, Webdesigns etc ...).

If I RAID 0 the 2 20's and add a 20 ... will there be an problems?

This is the machine that's for sale, but since no one has baught it yet ... I must upgrade :p

I think you can add 3 HD's, 2 in Raid 0 and 1 for storage. Ask somebody who knows about Raid though, but I don't think there should be any problems with that kind of setup. You might need a bigger PSU if you have a lot of stuff though.

There is no problem having three hard drives hooked up to the Promise RAID controller and having two in a RAID 0 array and the third just for separate storage. or you could just put the third one on one of the IDE channels. Either way would work.
