I hope this is the right place. I have a Gigabyte GA-7DXR with two new W-D 40GB hard drives.
My problem is this.
I need to load the Promise RAID drivers before the WIN XP O/S loads. The driver folder on the motherboard CD covers WIN 98/ME/2000 and WIN 98/NT. No mention of XP. I'm betting the file structure in XP is more like NT (read NTFS) than 2000 but I may be wrong. Anybody got xperience here? I checked Gigabyte but theres no mention of this issue. Thanks and Happy Holidaze to all.

when i clean installed xp, all i did was press F6 as soon as the first blue screen shows up (there is a brief reminder to do so at the bottom), then popped in my driver disks. XP got the correct driver without me pointing to a specific directory. if you dont have the driver disks Promise has updated drivers on their site.

if you aren't talking about setting up the drivers prior to install, this doesn't apply, but my promise card was detected by xp right away once i put teh driver disk in. and BTW if there is a choice, go with the win2k drivers over the NT drivers, as winxp is more like 2k than xp.
