Has anyone else noticed that Win98 has a Timing Issue with Promise IDE controllers. For some reason, the data transfer between my IDE CD-ROM drives on my BX IDE controllers to my Promise IDE contrller is horrid. If I boot to Win2K everthing is fine. Is saw someone else with the problem, but they never resolved it.
In my Case the Controller is built in to the MSI BXMaster and I can't update the Bios. There is a new one out, and I am wondering if the timing issue is fixed.
Anyone else have this MB? Download CDSpeed and run a test on your IDE CD-ROM drives. They perform like crap.
