Promise IDE-66 RAID hack... What kind of RAID is produced?

not, the hack is actually into a fasttrak which is software RAID. performance is like that of what windows NT can do. there is no onboard processor. ;-) no socket for SIMMs or DIMMs for cache memory.

Can NT, or more specifically, 2K do a RAID? Someone told me it could, but after checking, I couldn't find how, so discounted them...

2k can do all sorts of fancy stuff with disks as long as they are Dynamic Disks. It can do spaning, striping, mirroring, stripe+parity....and more if I rememember correctly. I've done disk spanning with win2k and it worked great...easy to set up.
