Promise FT100 TX2 in Linux, is it possiable? (w/RAID 1)

I through this in Gen HArdware, but i guess it might get a better response in here.

My Boss want to throw a Promise RAID controller on are web server at work, running RAID 5. Me and a few of the other guys think its impossiable, but, i'm gonna ask anyway, heck i been wrong before.

Its Running Red Hat 7.1, a Promise controller (fasttrack 100tx2), and 2 IBM gxp60 drives.

You could use Software RAID in linux.. RAID 1 on some partitions, RAID 0 (or 5) some others.. it can be very efficient.

I know, i wanted the 3ware 6000 or the Adaptec 2400 for use in the machine, but do they listen to me...NOOOOOOOOOO!

Use software RAID... forget thier drivers, use something proven reliable.

We are gonna try software w/ the two IBMs, and see how that fits..
