Hi. I need a little help with my Promise Fast Track 66 and win xp.
Every time I try to copy/move/delete files on the drive that is attatched to the fast track card(there is only 1 drive and I am not using raid) my computer will freeze for a few seconds and then it will come back but it will keep freezing off and on until the files are copied. If I open a program or do anything and one of these freezes occurs than the system will crash(no BSOD just locks up).
Also file transfers take forever.
Every time this happens I get this error in the event viewer:

From the looks of it the card is the problem and not the drive itself. I was wondering if this was maybe an IRQ problem.

2 40gb Ibm ata 100 hard drives
1 20 gb ata 66 hard drive(the only drive on the promise card)
sound blaster live platinum
radeon 8500
linksys nic
promise fast track 66(not using raid)
teac cdrw 12X10X32
and of coarse floppy drive.
I was also wondering if this could be a prob with the power supply. I am using a cheapo 300 watt that came with my case.
I was having power probs and had to unplug all 4 of my 120mm fans. I have a 400w sparkle coming next week so that is taken care of.
