Here is my setup:
raptor on non-raid promise sata150 tx2plus card (boot drive)
2x250 gb maxtor in raid 1 on promise fasttrack 150 tx2 plus card (storage)
the rest of the system can be seen under "cosworth" in my sig
i need to boot from the nonraid card, so it has to be ahead of the raid card in the pci slots so that the nonraid card's bios is loaded. when ever i do this, the nonraid card will load fine, but when it comes to the raid card, the system will just stall. it will not get past the part where the card detects the drives
if i have the raid card installed ahead of the nonraid card, the raid card's bios is installed, then the system detects the nonraid card, but wont install the bios because anoter bios is already installed. i get a message stating non-system disk (like i should)
i have tried the nonraid card in every pci slot ahead of the raid card, and moved both of them around. nothing works. i have removed all other cards from the system when trying this.
does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make this work? i am using two cards because i happen to have them lying around when i bought the raptor.
i have this feeling that i will need to buy a raid card with 4 portts so i dont need two cards.
