Promise Fastrk light raid controller needing update

my gigabyte 8IHXP board dont appear to support 2 arrays totally 4 discs, i get the dos screen saying both my arrays are functional but an errr saying this light version dont support this configuration..
anyone no if i can upgrade the bios from a regular fastrk pci card to utilize the 2 stiped arrays?

The Promise Lite system only supports two disks.

For the Asus boards that have this system, many people are using the "Lumberjacker" BIOS which converts the Lite controller to a full controller. I'm not sure if it supports two arrays or just 4 drives in one array and if a BIOS is available for your MB. Do a search for Lumberjacker to find out.
 
Big Thanks on the info, my board isnt listed, although GA8-IRXP is listed, laughs, i hate to toast the board bios as this is a 845 chipset board, mine is 850e.. although this should just alter the promise ide channel not complete system bios? hmm...
 
If your board isn't specifically listed, don't mess with the BIOS. Although Lumberjacker just modifies the RAID part of the BIOS, it is a full BIOS with all the other original features.
