promise fastrak ide raid atapi/scsi errors

im running windows 2000 on dual wd 40 gig hd's thru a promise fastrak raid controller. Prior to installing the raid controller my cd burner and dvd worked fine. after installing the raid controller anything u plug inot the ide channels appear on my device manager as scsi devices. the cd burner or dvd has no problem reading a disc but when u try to burn a disc i get a scsi/atapi error. i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows a quick fix.

The devices appearing as SCSI devices isn't a problem, that's the way 2000/XP handle them. Most likely you're encountering an issue with a VIA IDE driver or 4-in-1 set.
