Jhassi-
I'm sorry about the "Not". I'll be more delicate with you in the future seing how touchy you are. Maybe you can get on a forum where's there no newbies, of course there'll only be know-it-all about everything AH's like yourself, no questions being asked, or open flow of ideas, discussions, and solutions. On your perfect board you'd have senior members only spouting off pointed pontifications about the way things are, at least according to you.
As a matter of fact I am new to this board, yet I hold senior titles (for what they're worth) on other boards, have also been doing this for years, and happen to be 44 years old. It doesn't make me an expert,or give me the right to torch others who I think are "newbies".
As for for a decent reply, yes-tape offers a a greater ease-of-use for users who have a high volume of information or incremental backup is important. For people like me who have a low volumes of data and incremental data lost isn't that much of a concern (as with most gaming/browsing rigs) then CD backup with Norton Ghost or a second hard drive (I do both) offer a great alternative to tape.
As for RAID, that was never the topic of this post. It's an alternative that I can exercise down the road if I want by hacking the card, for now, I just want to increase hardrive performance and burn CD-CD on the fly.
