Prometia vs. VapoChill for OC'ing

I am about to dive into a Canterwood with P4 and am seriously considering getting into the active cooling arena for overclocking.

Are there any AT subscribers out there with experience and advice for an active cooler n00b?

In doing my homework it appears that THG luvs him some VapoChill while most other reviewers get gushy for Prometia...

Which is best for OC'ing P4 systems?

(Despite owning some 28 AMD-based systems since 1992, I'm going P4 for this system so pluses or minuses for AMD chips will not impact my decision but feel free to give AMD advice too)

Thanks all!

the prometia is better than the vapochill because it has a better and more powerful compressor.
i remember comparing the spec sheets and concluding that the prometia is better.
forgot the links already though.
try googling

Thanks, I've been looking and came to same conclusion -> Prometia appears to be undisputed king for reaching absolute coldest operating temperatures.

Question now is where the heck to buy one at? I'm in Texas, USA. Can't seem to find them on pricegrabber or pricewatch.

The main benefits of VapoChill are that it is cheaper and it is already integrated into a case. The biggest drawback with the VapoChill is that it runs off your power supply, so you really, really need a high quality 450W-550W power supply (I think the VapoChill draws about 7-8A from the 12V rail).

The Prometia is a bit more expensive, and the integrated case is a bit dated (Enlight 72xx series). The benefits of Prometia are that it performs a bit better, doesn't use your power supply, and you can use it with whatever case you'd like.

naw.. i'll keep this rig as well! :Q

two machines to crunch seti@home 24/7 yay (im averaging 11-12 from this machine alone so... hmm... 2 machines would be yummy + i'd get a p4 rig but i'll wait on thugs, and pj's and everyone else's results with the new 2.4C)!!!

it'll be fun woo hoo!

i'll prolly have to wait until i move into my new apartment though...

it's nice living in a small town (cost of living is SUPER low), not having to pay a penny for grad school, getting a stipend from the university, and having parents that are nice enough to help out financially with some expenses... :)
