Shiva112, the more I read comparing the two speakers systems the more confused I got. I thought I'd check out the ProMedia 2.1's, and return them if they didn't pan out. My first listen didn't sit well w/ me; as I said they were real boomy and harsh. But, after adjusting mixer settings I have to say these things are awesome. The THX theme wav literally rattles the whole room. The Doobie Brothers' South City Midnight Lady has a beginning guitar riff, and it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up when you hear fingers sliding over the guitar strings.
As I said, I really struggled w/ which way to go, and one of the deciding criteria was what to do w/ the other two speakers in the BA4800 setup - my office just isn't accomodating to a 4.1 setup.
All that said, both these speaker systems are top-notch. I had/have the BA MicroMedia speaker system (now called the BA790) and they are no slouch, especially w/ a $99 price tag. What the ProMedia 2.1's bring to the table is the ability to blow your ears off, volume wise.
I've been contemplating why my experience w/ the Acoustic Edge was less than stellar. I checked and unchecked the Q Sound settings, and it just sounded artificial to me. Go figure <g>. The AE is getting so many good reviews that I can't help but think I'm missing something here.
