It's a perfectly decent langauge for AI, though lisp is certainly more common in the US at least. You just have to wrap your head around setting up problems and letting the language explore / solve them for you. It also helps to have a semester or two of formal logic classes.

I like both Prolog and Lisp.

For awhile I hated Lisp -- Language of Irritating Single Parentheses -- so I used Prolog exclusively.

But then I wrote Lisp in Lisp and life grew simpler.
