Proliant 800 Server keeps rebooting

I have Compaq Proliant 800 server which was recently transported with a luggage cart over rough terrain, and now it won't boot up.

The symptoms are as follows:

Push PB on, after about 1.5 seconds, fans and lights come on for about 1 second, then turns off. After about 3 seconds it repeats the above, over and over again.

I've checked and rechecked to make sure everything is seated properly, and no luck.

The problem occurs even when I removed the memory, cpu, voltage module and disconnect all drives. Has anyone encountered anything like this before?

The way they wedge the motherboard, backplanes, daughter boards, and any other board for that matter, into those cases, some of which having side edge connectors, it would be possible that one of these main boards could have slipped out of their connector during the rough handling.

I figured out what the problem was. I did try refitting all the cards, but then decided to open the power supply.

Now, it was easy to notice that when I tried to power the unit on, the PS fan stayed still. I tried to move it, and it was stuck. So, the PS must have been shutting down after detecting an overload on the stuck fan.

Replaced the PS fan, and I'm good to go now.
