Projector / Tv or what? for GTX780?

The set up I have coming in the mail, includes some serious hardware, such as the GTX780. Sure, I don't expect to be making this puppy bleed on day one, but I would like to take advantage of everything I can.

I love playing on the projector I have, but it's simply 720p/1080i. Fun for racing games or halo on xbox. I could look into a legitimately 1080p projector, or awesome TV like a 46" samsung 1080p/ with or without 3d, yet I don't know if they would ever go past 1080p like my card would be able to.

Does anyone know if I can make an LCD/1080p tv go past that res?

Yet I don't want a 24" 4k monitor, because I will not be sitting in a chair by my tower, more like across the room in my bed sort of set up.

What do you think? What do you use?

You might get more responses in the audio/video section of the forums. They know their stuff recommending either good projectors or tvs that would fit your needs. If I'm not mistaken, they are coming out with 4k tvs? I think they're pretty pricey though.

You can't push a display device beyond its intended max resolution - you can send it a signal, but it'll be scaled or cropped to 1080. I'd highly recommend the BenQ w1070 projector if you're thinking of stepping up to a reasonably priced PJ. I'm using mine @ 110" sitting 9 ft away and I don't see pixels at all. I have to be within 4 foot to see them. If you look at reviews, it's being praised as the best value under $1500, let alone $1000.

I had a 46" samsung LED http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN46D6000SFXZA (stolen) and the picture quality is on parity. (LED is of course brighter) I don't think I could go back to a small screen! Light control is my only difficulty

dude if it's a 1080p, it has that number of pixels, you can't "go past".

It's like asking a 4 wheeled car to grow a new pair because you want to.

My computer is hooked up to a 65" panny plasma that I used for my primary display (it's a 65GT30). I would first decide what your budget is and if you want a direct view display like an LCD/Plasma or another projector (obviously if you are set on a screen size of over 70-80" or so, a projector may be the only feasible option in your budget). Personally, I think my 65" is too small to play from more than 5-6" away... but I like to be close when I game.
