I've been out on the road since last August, so spend most of my nights in hotels, though currently in an apartment for 5 weeks. As the majority of places still have older TV's, I'm thinking strongly about picking up a projector (and maybe screen) to even the field. I had an InFocus projector years ago, but can't say that I'm up on the new lingo that kids are usin' nowadays. Figured I'd stop back by these parts since it's been awhile.
At any rate, some restraints/specs I'm looking at:
- I'm basically limited to a footlocker and two suitcases, so space is at a premium. With something like this, I might be able to get it traveled separate from my things, or carry it on.
- I've got an Xbox 360 that I'd want to play and watch movies with, as well as output from my laptop or other devices. May be staying with a guy early next year with a PS3.
- Internal audio isn't a necessity, but basic speaker(s) might be good. Thinking about a sound bar or an ipod dock to handle the audio.
- Currently looking at somewhere around the $800-1000 price range, but can be swayed.
- As I'm basically always traveling, week to week, build quality and warranty definitely come into play.
- May pick up a tiny projector for shits and giggles, unless I'm just going to hate the quality and want to kill myself.
