i get this question on interviews all the time for IT jobs! "how do you resolve a projector not working?"

my response:
1- check the power cord
2- check the cable connection
3- make sure the PC is seeing the projector as 2nd display
4- use a spare laptop to rule out the issue is not the PC
5- if projector is still not displaying anything then the bulb must be replaced.

how would you answer this question?
 
Most common is display settings being wrong, followed by sketchy displayport to VGA dongles. Surface and macbook owners in particular.
