Just built a new house and trying to decide if a projector is the best idea for my bedroom/study.

thats from standing in my bedroom looking into the study

thats from looking into my bedroom from the hall way

the bedroom is 400sqft including the attached study which will double as the computer room. The throw distance is 10 feet if I understand the measurements right as the study is a 10x10.

Going to use a Optoma 70 HD 720P projector that was recommended on here.
I just want to make sure this is realistic for using as a primary TV for the bedroom. I will be blacking out the window in the projector room to help ease the ambient light.

thanks in advance

That projector looks freaking amazing for the price. I had no plans to upgrade untill I could find 1080p for under 2k. But that one almost makes me want to upgrade now. What sort of size are you looking for, if your looking for 90+ then 10 feet won't be enough, but for the size of the room and how close you will be sitting I would think that you will be just fine.

If I can hit 90" it should be enough as the bed will be sitting 15-16ft.

Worse comes to worse I will mount a 32" LCD on the ceiling above the bed.

looks to me like you could put it in the other room, then you could get quite a bit more size to it. Still project it where you had planned but the projector would be farther back.

I was just trying to take advantage of the overhang :)

thought it would be a good place to mount the projector
